Preview: Royals Entertain Cougars Friday & Sunday Noon

The Victoria Royals, ranked 5th in the CHL Top 10 this week, entertain the Prince George Cougars Friday night at 7pm and Sunday at noon.

Victoria is riding an 8 game win streak and sit first in the league standings with 96 points, 3 ahead of Kelowna, who have a game in hand.  Prince George has points in their last 2 games (1-0-0-1), and are tied for 3rd in the BC Division with Kamloops at 77 points a piece. 

The Royals have a record of 3-2-0-1 versus the Cougars this season.

Victoria takes on Prince George on Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals will host BC Division rivals, the Prince George Cougars on Friday night and Sunday afternoon at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Friday evening is Eco Night with puck drop at 7:05 p.m., while Sunday’s matinee contest is scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
HOME COOKING: With their 7-3 victory over the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night, the Royals set the new franchise record for most wins on home ice. Victoria has earned 23 victories this season, which includes a current 10 game home winning streak. The previous record was set during the 2013-14 season when the Royals collected 22 victories on home ice.
SUPER SOY: With two goals on Saturday night, Victoria’s Tyler Soy passed alumni Austin Carroll for the most goals scored during a single season in team history. Soy also became the first player in Royals’ history to score 40 goals in a single campaign. Carroll had originally set the record last year when he tallied 38 markers over 69 contests.
FRIDAY – ECO NIGHT
The Royals have partnered with the Victoria Electric Vehicle Club to showcase a representation of today’s electric vehicles and sustainable technology.

–          The Victoria Electric Vehicle Club will be giving away five team signed Royals’ jerseys via a draw at their table located at Gate 1.
–          The Bottle Depot will be outside Gate 1 doing a bottle drive with proceeds going to the Victoria Electric Vehicle Club and the Victoria Royals Education & Scholarship Fund pre-game.
