Victoria has one win in three games versus Kamloops, with all the games being played in September.  The Royals opened the season on the road against the Blazers, and with 5 players away at NHL Camps, fell 6-3.  Then a week later lost 8-2 at home, before a 4-3 overtime win the following night.

Last season season the Royals won 7 of 8 games against the Blazers.

On their current road trip, Victoria fell by the same 4-2 scores in Portland Tuesday and Spokane Wednesday.  In both games the opposition scored first and held the Royals 5th best power play off the board.

Wednesday against the Chiefs, the Royals got 34 saves from Coleman Vollrath, but 3 point nights from Kailer Yamamto and Calder Brooks, paced Spokane to victory.

The Chiefs broke a second period 1-1 tie with a pair of late goals.  The Royals drew to within one in the third, but Brooks second into an empty net added insurance.

Victoria got goals from Greg Chase his second in as many nights, and Austin Carroll’s 18th, the 3rd most in the WHL.

Kamloops fell 7-3 to the visiting Regina Pats last night as Connor Gay had 3 goals and an assist, while Dryden Hunt had 5 helpers.

The Pats jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the game was 6 minutes old.  Connor Ingram who started the last 5 games for the Blazers was relieved by Cole Kehler who then allowed 4 goals on 39 shots.

Kamloops is now winless in 3, dropping their last 2 straight.  They have 2 wins in their past 10 (2-4-2-2) and with 27 points, the sit 3 back of Victoria in the West.
