Lofthouse scored his first goal and point with Victoria Wednesday in Kelowna, just his 3rd game with the club after being acquired from Everett for a 6th round pick in 2014.
On Tuesday, the Silvertips relieved head coach Mark Ferner and assistant coach Chris Hartsburg of their duties, with GM Garry Davidson taking over the coaching duties on an interim basis.
Everett also made a move on trade deadline day, sending 18yr D Nick Walters, 16yr F Taylor Sanheim, to Brandon for 17yr D Ayrton Nikkel, and a 2015 6th round bantam draft conditional pick.
The Royals made no further moves at the deadline.
Victoria remains 6th in the Conference after dropping a 6-1 decision at Kelowna on Wednesday, now 6 points back of the 5th place Tri City Americans.
Everett has been idle since dropping a 5-2 decision in Portland last Saturday. With 34 points, the 8th place ‘Tips are 1 back of T-birds, and 9 behind the Royals.
Everett has won 3 of their last 5, with decisions over Spokane and a pair against Seattle. Their last 4 losses have been against teams in the CHL top 10 – Kelowna, and 3 against Portland.
The Silvertips are (8-9-0-2) at home, The Royals are (7-11-0-1) on the road.
Victoria will still be without F Logan Nelson (Lower, 3-5 weeks), F Ben Walker (Upper, 1-2 weeks) and F Luke Harrison (Upper, indefinite).
Austin Lotz of the Everett Silvertips was the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending December 30 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 0.98 and save percentage of .973.
The Silvertips will see the return of D Mirco Meuller after an 8 game absence while playing for Switzerland at the World Juniors. Tyler Sandhu and Ty Mappin also return after a 5th place finish for Team Pacific at the U-17’s.
The Royals will wrap up a 3 game road trip tomorrow night against the Thunderbirds in Seattle before returning home for a pair against the Kamloops Blazers.
